Accounting is the measuring, processing, and communicating of financial information about businesses and corporations.

You should understand that a good idea alone will not drive your business. In order to turn your idea into a successful venture, you must have an understanding of general accounting principles.

By the end of this unit you will be able to answer the following questions:

What is the role of accounting in business?
What will you use accounting for in our business?
What are Credits and Debits?

Make sure you understand each concept before moving on to the next. These topics are building blocks and should be tackled sequentially.
